Configuring 50mail.com for an iPad/iPhone
With this post I will teach you how to set up 50mail.com with IMAP and SMTP in an easy to follow way...
What is 50mail.com:
Fastmail is an email hosting company based in Melbourne, Australia. In addition to its Fastmail-branded services, the company also operates Topicbox, a mailing list service, and Pobox, an email service it acquired in 2015. The company was acquired by Opera Software in 2010 but became independent again in 2013 through a staff buyout. Its servers are located in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Seattle, Washington. Setting up 50mail.com:
It is possible that the Mail app will find your configuration itself, then complete setting up your account. Follow these steps in order to try:
- Go to Settings > Mail and click Accounts
- Click Add Account, tap Other and tap Add Mail Account.
- Type your name (can be any name), email address, password with a description for account
- Click Next. Mail will try and find the mail settings and finish setting your account. If the Mail app finds your e-mail parameter, tap Done to finish your setup.
In case the Mail app didn't automatically set up your account, it means that you have to enter them yourself. We think you will find the table below useful:
Incoming E-mail (IMAP) Settings
Server Hostname | imap.fastmail.com |
Server Port | 993 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Outgoing E-mail Settings
Server Hostname | smtp.fastmail.com |
Server Port | 587 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Tap Next, then follow these steps:
- Select IMAP or POP If you don't know which one to choose, contact 50mail.com
- Type the required details (You might want to refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then click Next
- If your email setup is correct, tap Save to complete . If the mail configuration is incorrect, the app will ask you to edit them
- In case you still aren't able to set up your e-mail account or store your e-mail settings, contact the provider.
