It originally provided a dial-up service to millions of Americans, as well as providing a web portal, e-mail, instant messaging and later a web browser following its purchase of Netscape. Configuring Aol.co.uk
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
- In the top right, tap your profile picture.
- Tap Add another account.
- Choose the type of account you want to add:
- If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
- If you don't see your email service, select Other.
- Enter your email address and tap Next.
Incoming E-mail Configuration
- Select the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Not all services support both protocols. Refer to the table below for available settings.
- IMAP protocol will keep the emails on the server and it will show a cached copy on your Android phone. IMAP is recommended for most users.
- POP3 downloads the mails from the server and it will keep them on your Android device.
- Type the password for the email address and click Next.
- Refer to the following table to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
- Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.
Outgoing Mail Settings
- After you type the settings, you can tap Next.
- Check Require sign-in
- Please see the following table in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
- Tap Next. If you see an error, click Edit Settings.
