Configuring Bigpond.net.au for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

Setting up Bigpond.net.au

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
3. Tap Add another account.
4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
   • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
   • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Setup Needed for Receiving Email

1. Choose the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Some services may not provide both options! Refer to the information below for possible protocols.
   • IMAP protocol stores the mails on the server but it will display a copy on your Android phone. IMAP is recommended for almost all users.
   • POP3 downloads the e-mails from the remote server and it will keep them on your device.
2. Enter the password for the mail account and tap Next.
3. Please see the following information to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) Configuration

Outgoing E-mail Server Configuration (using SMTP)

1. Once the settings are entered, click Next.
2. Enable Require sign-in
3. Use the following table to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
4. Tap Next. If there is an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
