How to set up bk.ru for an Android Phone

In this article I will try to explain configuring bk.ru using IMAP and SMTP for your Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a straightforward way.

Configuring bk.ru:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Required for Receiving Mail

  1. Select the type of mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Some services may not support both options! You may want to check out the table below for available protocols.
    • IMAP protocol will keep the emails on the server and it will show a cached copy on your Android device. IMAP is the recommended setting for most users.
    • POP3 downloads the mails from the remote server and it will keep them on your Android device.
  2. Enter the password for your email account and tap Next.
  3. Please use the information below in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
  4. Tap Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.

Configuration Required for Sending Email (using SMTP)

  1. After you type the parameters, tap Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Use the table below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
  4. Now click Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
