How to set up Chello.at for an Android Device

In this post I will simply teach you how to setup Chello.at using SMTP and IMAP for an Android Phone in a straightforward language.

Configuring Chello.at

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Needed for Receiving Mail

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not provide both options! Refer to the table below for available settings.
    • IMAP protocol will keep the mails on the server, but it will show a cached copy on your Android phone. IMAP is recommended for most users.
    • POP3 downloads the emails from the server and it will keep them on your Android device.
  2. Enter the password for your e-mail address and click Next.
  3. Use the table below in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Now click Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.

Outgoing E-mail Server Configuration (using SMTP)

  1. After you type the settings, click Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Use the following table in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Click Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
