Configuring Gmx.de for your Android Phone

Setting up Gmx.de

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
3. Tap Add another account.
4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
   • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
   • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming E-mail Server Settings

1. Choose the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Not all services provide both. Refer to the information below for possible settings.
   • IMAP stores the e-mails on the server, and it will display a cached copy on your Android phone. IMAP is recommended in most cases.
   • POP3 will download the emails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android device.
2. Enter the passphrase for your email address and tap Next.
3. Use the following table in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
4. Click Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.

Settings Needed for Sending E-mail (via SMTP)

1. After you enter the settings, you can click Next.
2. Select Require sign-in
3. Please refer to the table below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
4. Now tap Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.
