Setting up Mtsmail.ca for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

In this article I will simply summarize how to configure Mtsmail.ca with SMTP and IMAP for your Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a simple way.

How to setup Mtsmail.ca

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Configuration Needed for Receiving E-mail

  1. Select the type of mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Not all services provide both options. Refer to the table below for the correct protocols.
    • IMAP protocol stores the emails on the server, and it will display a copy on your device. IMAP is the recommended protocol for almost all users.
    • POP3 downloads the e-mails from the remote server and it will keep them on your device.
  2. Type in the password for the email address and click Next.
  3. Use the following table to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Now click Next. If you see an error, click Edit Settings.

Outgoing E-mail Server Configuration (using SMTP)

  1. After you type in the settings, tap Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Please refer to the information below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
  4. Now click Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.
