How to configure Orange.net.bw for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this post I will simply explain configuring Orange.net.bw with POP and SMTP for an Android Tablet in a straightforward fashion!

What is Orange.net.bw:

Orange, formerly France Télécom S.A., is a French multinational telecommunications corporation. It has 266 million customers worldwide and employs 89,000 people in France, and 59,000 elsewhere. It is the 11th largest mobile network operator in the world and the 4th largest in Europe after Vodafone, Telefónica, Deutsche Telekom. In 2015, the group had revenue of €40 billion. Setting up Orange.net.bw:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Configuration Required for Receiving Email

  1. Choose the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not provide both options. Refer to the information below for available parameters.
    • IMAP stores the mails on the server and it will keep a cached copy on your Android device. IMAP is recommended for most users.
    • POP3 will download the mails from the remote server and it will keep them on your Android device.
  2. Type the password for the mail address and tap Next.
  3. Please use the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
  4. Now click Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.

Outgoing E-mail Server Configuration

  1. Once the settings are filled in, click Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Refer to the following table in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.
