How to set up Palouse.com for an Android Phone

Setting up Palouse.com

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming E-mail Setup

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Not all services support both protocols. Refer to the table below for possible settings.
    • IMAP will store the e-mails on the server but it will display a cached copy on your device. IMAP is recommended in most cases.
    • POP3 downloads the emails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android phone.
  2. Type the password for the mail address and tap Next.
  3. Use the information below in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If there is an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Configuration Required for Sending Email (via SMTP)

  1. Once the parameters are filled in, you can tap Next.
  2. Check Require sign-in
  3. Please see the information below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
  4. Click Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.
