How to configure Sina.com for an Android Device

With this article I will teach you configuring Sina.com with POP and SMTP for your Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a simple way.

How to setup Sina.com:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Configuration Required for Receiving E-mail

  1. Choose the type of mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Some services may not support both options. Refer to the table below for available protocols.
    • IMAP will keep the mails on the server and it will display a cached copy on your Android device. IMAP is recommended for almost all users.
    • POP3 will download the emails from the remote server and it will keep them on your Android device.
  2. Type in the password for the email address and click Next.
  3. Please use the information below in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.

Settings Required for Sending Email (via SMTP)

  1. Once the parameters are filled in, tap Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Please use the table below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Now click Next. If there is an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
