How to configure so-net.new.jp for an Android Tablet

Configuring so-net.new.jp

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
3. Tap Add another account.
4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
   • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
   • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Setup Needed for Receiving Mail

1. Choose the type of email account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not support both options. Please see the information below for available protocols.
   • IMAP keeps the emails on the server but it will display a copy on your Android phone. IMAP is recommended for most users.
   • POP3 downloads the emails from the remote server and it will keep them on your Android device.
2. Enter the passphrase for the e-mail address and tap Next.
3. Please see the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
4. Tap Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.

Outgoing E-mail Settings (using SMTP)

1. Once the settings are filled in, tap Next.
2. Turn on Require sign-in
3. Please see the following information in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
4. Now tap Next. If there is an error, click the Edit Settings button.
