Configuring Sohu.com:
Mail may find your parameters itself, then complete setting up your account. Apply these steps first to try:
- Open Settings, then Mail, and click Accounts
- Tap Add Account, then Other and click Add Mail Account.
- Enter your name, your email address, your password with a description for your account.
- Tap Next. Mail should now try and find the email configuration and finish setting your account. If the Mail app finds the e-mail parameter, tap Done to complete your account setup.
If Mail didn't find your e-mail parameters, it means that you have to enter them yourself. We think you may need the following information:
Incoming E-mail (POP) Setup
Server Hostname | pop3.sohu.com |
Server Port | 110 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | No |
Outgoing Mail Setup
Server Hostname | smtp.sohu.com |
Server Port | 25 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | No |
Tap Next, then follow these steps:
- Choose either IMAP or POP If you are not sure which one to opt for, contact Sohu.com
- Type the details (You will refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then tap Next.
- If the mail setup is correct, click Save to finish . If your e-mail settings are incorrect, the app will ask you to edit the configuration
- If you still can't set up the e-mail account, or save your settings, contact the e-mail provider.
