Configuring Sonic.net for your iOS Device

With this article I will simply demonstrate setting up Sonic.net using IMAP and SMTP in a simple way.

How to setup Sonic.net:

Mail app may find your email settings itself, then complete setting up your account. Follow the following steps in order to see if it can:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail, and click Accounts.
  2. Tap Add Account, then Other then click Add Mail Account
  3. Enter your name, email address, your password then a description for your account.
  4. Tap Next. Mail should try to find the mail settings and set up your account. If the Mail app finds your email settings, click Done to finish your setup.

In case Mail didn't find your mail settings, then you have to enter them yourself. We think you will need the information below:

Setup Needed for Receiving Mail using IMAP

Server Hostnameimap.sonic.net

UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes

Outgoing E-mail Configuration (using SMTP)

Server Hostnamemail.sonic.net
Server Port465
UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes

Tap Next, then follow these steps:

  1. Select either IMAP or POP If you don't know which one to opt for, contact Sonic.net
  2. Enter the required information (You might want to refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then click Next.
  3. If the mail settings are correct, tap Save to finish . If your mail settings are incorrect, Mail will ask you to modify those settings.
  4. In case you still are not able to set up your email account or store the e-mail settings, contact Sonic.net.
