Setting up Telus for your Android Tablet
In this article we will simply explain how to configure Telus with IMAP and SMTP for a Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a straightforward way!

How to setup Telus
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
- In the top right, tap your profile picture.
- Tap Add another account.
- Choose the type of account you want to add:
- If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
- If you don't see your email service, select Other.
- Enter your email address and tap Next.
Incoming Email Server Configuration
- Select the type of mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not provide both options. Please refer to the information below for available settings.
- IMAP stores the e-mails on the server, and it will display a cached copy on your device. IMAP is recommended in almost all cases.
- POP3 will download the mails from the server and it will store them on your Android device.
- Type in the passphrase for the email account and click Next.
- Refer to the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
- Click Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.

Configuration Required for Sending E-mail (via SMTP)
- After you type in the configuration, you can tap Next.
- Check Require sign-in
- Please refer to the table below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
- Now tap Next. If there is an error, click the Edit Settings button.
