
Configuring Web.de for an Android Phone
With this article I will try to explain how to configure Web.de with IMAP and SMTP for your Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a simple fashion.

Configuring Web.de:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
- In the top right, tap your profile picture.
- Tap Add another account.
- Choose the type of account you want to add:
- If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
- If you don't see your email service, select Other.
- Enter your email address and tap Next.
Setup Required for Receiving Mail
- Choose the type of mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Some services may not provide both! Please refer to the table below for available protocols.
- IMAP protocol keeps the e-mails on the server, and it will show a cached copy on your Android phone. IMAP is the recommended protocol for most users.
- POP3 downloads the emails from the server and it will store them on your Android phone.
- Type in the passphrase for your email account and click Next.
- Please see the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
- Now click Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.

Settings Required for Sending Email
- After you enter the parameters, click Next.
- Enable Require sign-in
- Refer to the following table in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
- Now click Next. If you see an error, click Edit Settings.
