Configuring Aol.jp for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)
With this blog I will simply summarize how to set up Aol.jp using for your Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a straightforward fashion.
First, a few words about Aol.jp
AOL was one of the early pioneers of the Internet in the mid-1990s, and the most recognized brand on the web in the United States. It is a brand marketed by the current incarnation of Yahoo! Inc. It originally provided a dial-up service to millions of Americans, as well as providing a web portal, e-mail, instant messaging and later a web browser following its purchase of Netscape. Configuring Aol.jp
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
- In the top right, tap your profile picture.
- Tap Add another account.
- Choose the type of account you want to add:
- If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
- If you don't see your email service, select Other.
- Enter your email address and tap Next.
Setup Needed for Receiving Mail
- Choose the type of email account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Not all services support both options! You may want to refer to the information below for the correct settings.
- IMAP protocol will keep the e-mails on the server, and it will keep a cached copy on your device. IMAP is the recommended protocol for almost all users.
- POP3 downloads the e-mails from the remote server and it will keep them on your Android device.
- Type in the passphrase for your mail account and tap Next.
- Please use the table below to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
- Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.
Settings Needed for Sending Email (using SMTP)
- After you enter the configuration, you can tap Next.
- Turn on Require sign-in
- Refer to the table below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
- Now tap Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.
