Configuring Att.net

It is possible that the Mail app will find your e-mail settings automatically, and set up your account. Apply these steps to try:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail and click Accounts
  2. Tap Add Account > Other, then tap Add Mail Account
  3. Type in your name (can be any name), email address, password then a description for account.
  4. Click Next. The Mail app will now try to find the email parameters and set up your account. If Mail finds your e-mail parameter, tap Done to complete your setup.

In case the Mail app didn't automatically set up your account, then you will have to enter them manually. I think you may need the following information:

Settings Needed for Receiving Email with IMAP

Server Hostnameimap.mail.att.net
Server Port993
UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes

Settings Needed for Sending Email (using SMTP)

Server Hostnamesmtp.mail.att.net
Server Port465
UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes

Tap Next, then follow these steps:

  1. Select IMAP or POP If you are not sure which one to choose, contact Att.net.
  2. Type in the required information (You may want to refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then click Next.
  3. If your e-mail settings are correct, click Save to complete the setup. If the mail settings are incorrect, the Mail app will ask you to modify the configuration.
  4. In case you still can't set up the account, or save your e-mail settings, contact the e-mail provider.
