Configuring Att.net
It is possible that the Mail app will find your e-mail settings automatically, and set up your account. Apply these steps to try:
- Go to Settings > Mail and click Accounts
- Tap Add Account > Other, then tap Add Mail Account
- Type in your name (can be any name), email address, password then a description for account.
- Click Next. The Mail app will now try to find the email parameters and set up your account. If Mail finds your e-mail parameter, tap Done to complete your setup.
In case the Mail app didn't automatically set up your account, then you will have to enter them manually. I think you may need the following information:
Settings Needed for Receiving Email with IMAP
Server Hostname | imap.mail.att.net |
Server Port | 993 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Settings Needed for Sending Email (using SMTP)
Server Hostname | smtp.mail.att.net |
Server Port | 465 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Tap Next, then follow these steps:
- Select IMAP or POP If you are not sure which one to choose, contact Att.net.
- Type in the required information (You may want to refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then click Next.
- If your e-mail settings are correct, click Save to complete the setup. If the mail settings are incorrect, the Mail app will ask you to modify the configuration.
- In case you still can't set up the account, or save your e-mail settings, contact the e-mail provider.
