Configuring Blueyonder.co.uk for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this post I will simply explain how to configure Blueyonder.co.uk with IMAP and SMTP for a Samsung Galaxy (Android) in an easy to follow fashion.

Setting up Blueyonder.co.uk:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Configuration Required for Receiving Email

  1. Choose the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not provide both protocols. Refer to the table below for the correct parameters.
    • IMAP protocol will keep the e-mails on the server, and it will display a copy on your Android device. IMAP is the recommended setting for most users.
    • POP3 will download the e-mails from the server and it will keep them on your device.
  2. Enter the password for the e-mail account and tap Next.
  3. Refer to the information below in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Now click Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.

Outgoing E-mail Server Settings (via SMTP)

  1. After you type in the parameters, click Next.
  2. Select Require sign-in
  3. Please use the following information in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
  4. Click Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.
