How to configure citiz.net for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this article we will summarize how to configure citiz.net with POP and SMTP for your Android Tablet in a simple fashion.

How to setup citiz.net:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming E-mail Server Setup

  1. Choose the type of mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Not all services provide both protocols. Please see the information below for the correct parameters.
    • IMAP protocol will store the emails on the server, but it will display a copy on your Android device. IMAP is recommended in almost all cases.
    • POP3 downloads the mails from the server and it will store them on your Android device.
  2. Type the passphrase for your email account and click Next.
  3. Use the following table to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Outgoing Mail Server Settings (via SMTP)

  1. After you type in the parameters, you can click Next.
  2. Select Require sign-in
  3. Please see the following table in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.
