Setting up Orange.cf for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

In this post we will try to demonstrate how to configure Orange.cf using POP and SMTP for an Android Tablet in an easy to follow language!

What is Orange.cf

Orange, formerly France Télécom S.A., is a French multinational telecommunications corporation. It has 266 million customers worldwide and employs 89,000 people in France, and 59,000 elsewhere. It is the 11th largest mobile network operator in the world and the 4th largest in Europe after Vodafone, Telefónica, Deutsche Telekom. In 2015, the group had revenue of €40 billion. Setting up Orange.cf

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Configuration Needed for Receiving Email

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Not all services provide both protocols! Please refer to the information below for the correct parameters.
    • IMAP will keep the e-mails on the server but it will keep a copy on your Android device. IMAP is the recommended setting for almost all users.
    • POP3 downloads the emails from the remote server and it will keep them on your device.
  2. Type the passphrase for the mail address and click Next.
  3. Please see the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Tap Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.

Configuration Required for Sending Mail

  1. After you type in the settings, you can click Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Use the following information in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
  4. Now click Next. If there is an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
