Setting up Comcast.net for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)
In this blog I will demonstrate configuring Comcast.net with SMTP and IMAP for your Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a simple fashion.

Setting up Comcast.net
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
- In the top right, tap your profile picture.
- Tap Add another account.
- Choose the type of account you want to add:
- If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
- If you don't see your email service, select Other.
- Enter your email address and tap Next.
Settings Needed for Receiving Email
- Select the type of email account (POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Not all services support both options. You may want to see the table below for the correct parameters.
- IMAP protocol stores the mails on the server, and it will show a copy on your Android phone. IMAP is recommended in almost all cases.
- POP3 downloads the emails from the server and it will keep them on your Android phone.
- Type in the password for the email account and tap Next.
- Please use the following table to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
- Now tap Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.
Configuration Needed for Receiving E-mail via IMAP

Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Outgoing E-mail Server Settings (using SMTP)
- Once the settings are entered, you can tap Next.
- Enable Require sign-in
- Please see the table below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
- Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
