Setting up Core.com for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

In this article I will summarize how to configure Core.com with POP and SMTP for a Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a straightforward language!

Configuring Core.com:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Required for Receiving Mail

  1. Select the type of mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Not all services provide both options. Please see the information below for available protocols.
    • IMAP protocol will store the e-mails on the server, and it will keep a copy on your Android phone. IMAP is recommended in almost all cases.
    • POP3 will download the e-mails from the remote server and it will keep them on your device.
  2. Type the password for the email address and tap Next.
  3. Please see the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Tap Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.

Outgoing Mail Server Configuration (via SMTP)

  1. After you type the parameters, you can click Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Please see the following information in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.
