In this blog we will summarize how to set up emailengine.net with IMAP and SMTP in a simple way!
History of emailengine.net
Fastmail is an email hosting company based in Melbourne, Australia. In addition to its Fastmail-branded services, the company also operates Topicbox, a mailing list service, and Pobox, an email service it acquired in 2015. The company was acquired by Opera Software in 2010 but became independent again in 2013 through a staff buyout. Its servers are located in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Seattle, Washington. Setting up emailengine.net
It is possible that Mail will find the e-mail configuration itself then configure your account. Apply these steps in order to see if it can:
- Open Settings, then Mail then tap Accounts
- Click Add Account > Other and click Add Mail Account.
- Type your name (can be any name), your email address, your password then a description for account.
- Click Next. The Mail app should now try to find the email settings and set up your account. If the Mail app finds your e-mail parameter, tap Done to complete your setup.
If the Mail app hasn't been able to automatically set up your account, it means that you need to enter them yourself. We think you may need the following information:
Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) Settings
Server Hostname | imap.fastmail.com |
Server Port | 993 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Outgoing Mail Server Settings (via SMTP)
Server Hostname | smtp.fastmail.com |
Server Port | 587 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Tap Next, then follow these steps:
- Choose IMAP or POP for your new account. If you don't know which one to select, contact emailengine.net
- Type the details (You might want to refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then tap Next.
- If your mail configuration is correct, click Save to complete the setup. If the email setup is incorrect, the Mail app will ask you to edit them
- In case you still can't setup your e-mail account or save your email settings, contact your provider.
