Configuring emailplus.org for your iPhone
With this article we will simply demonstrate how to configure emailplus.org with IMAP and SMTP in a simple fashion!
First, a few words about emailplus.org:
Fastmail is an email hosting company based in Melbourne, Australia. In addition to its Fastmail-branded services, the company also operates Topicbox, a mailing list service, and Pobox, an email service it acquired in 2015. The company was acquired by Opera Software in 2010 but became independent again in 2013 through a staff buyout. Its servers are located in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Seattle, Washington. How to configure emailplus.org:
It is possible that Mail will find your parameters automatically, then configure your account. Apply the following steps first in order to see if it will:
- Go to Settings > Mail, then click Accounts.
- Tap Add Account > Other and tap Add Mail Account.
- Type in your name (can be any name), email address, your password and a description for your account
- Tap Next. Mail will now try and find the email parameters and set up your account. If Mail finds your e-mail configuration, click Done to finish your account setup.
In case Mail can't find your mail parameters, then you will need to enter them yourself. We think you will find the following table useful:
Incoming E-mail Server (IMAP) Configuration
Server Hostname | imap.fastmail.com |
Server Port | 993 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Settings Needed for Sending Mail
Server Hostname | smtp.fastmail.com |
Server Port | 587 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Tap Next, then follow these steps:
- Select either IMAP or POP for your new account If you aren't sure which one to select, contact emailplus.org
- Type the required details (You may want to take a look at the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then tap Next
- If the email settings are correct, tap Save to finish the setup. If your email configuration is incorrect, you'll be asked to edit them.
- If you still can't setup your e-mail account or store your e-mail settings, contact the e-mail provider.
