Setting up fastmail.co.uk for your Android Tablet

Fastmail is an email hosting company based in Melbourne, Australia. In addition to its Fastmail-branded services, the company also operates Topicbox, a mailing list service, and Pobox, an email service it acquired in 2015. The company was acquired by Opera Software in 2010 but became independent again in 2013 through a staff buyout. Its servers are located in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Seattle, Washington. Setting up fastmail.co.uk:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming E-mail Configuration

  1. Select the type of mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not support both. You may want to see the information below for the correct parameters.
    • IMAP protocol will keep the e-mails on the server, and it will show a copy on your device. IMAP is recommended for most users.
    • POP3 will download the emails from the remote server and it will keep them on your device.
  2. Type in the passphrase for your mail address and click Next.
  3. Use the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

  1. After you type the parameters, tap Next.
  2. Select Require sign-in
  3. Refer to the table below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
  4. Now click Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.
