Setting up Firststepinternet.com for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

In this post we will simply demonstrate how to setup Firststepinternet.com with IMAP and SMTP for your Android Device in a simple fashion!

Configuring Firststepinternet.com:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Required for Receiving Mail

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Not all services provide both protocols! You may want to refer to the information below for possible protocols.
    • IMAP protocol will store the mails on the server and it will show a copy on your device. IMAP is the recommended protocol in most cases.
    • POP3 will download the e-mails from the server and it will store them on your Android device.
  2. Type in the passphrase for the mail account and click Next.
  3. Refer to the table below to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, click Edit Settings.

Configuration Required for Sending Email

  1. Once the parameters are filled in, you can click Next.
  2. Check Require sign-in
  3. Please refer to the table below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
