Setting up Gaia.eonet.ne.jp for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

In this post we will simply summarize configuring Gaia.eonet.ne.jp with IMAP and SMTP for your Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a simple fashion.

Configuring Gaia.eonet.ne.jp:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming E-mail Server Setup

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Not all services provide both options. You may want to check out the information below for possible parameters.
    • IMAP keeps the e-mails on the server and it will display a copy on your Android phone. IMAP is recommended in almost all cases.
    • POP3 will download the mails from the remote server and it will keep them on your Android device.
  2. Enter the passphrase for your email account and click Next.
  3. Please refer to the following information to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Click Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.

  1. Once the parameters are filled in, you can click Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Refer to the following table in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
