How to set up Gmail.de for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

Configuring Gmail.de

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
3. Tap Add another account.
4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
   • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
   • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Needed for Receiving Mail

1. Select the type of email account (POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Not all services provide both protocols! You may want to check out the information below for available settings.
   • IMAP will keep the emails on the server but it will keep a copy on your Android device. IMAP is recommended in most cases.
   • POP3 will download the emails from the server and it will keep them on your Android phone.
2. Type the passphrase for your mail account and click Next.
3. Please use the following information to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
4. Now click Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.

Configuration Needed for Receiving Email using IMAP

Outgoing Mail Server Setup (using SMTP)

1. Once the settings are typed in, you can click Next.
2. Check Require sign-in
3. Use the information below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.
