Setting up Gmx.at for an Android Device

In this post I will simply teach you configuring Gmx.at with POP and SMTP for a Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a simple way!

Configuring Gmx.at

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Needed for Receiving Mail

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not support both options. Refer to the table below for the correct protocols.
    • IMAP will store the mails on the server, and it will keep a copy on your device. IMAP is recommended in almost all cases.
    • POP3 will download the e-mails from the remote server and it will store them on your device.
  2. Enter the password for your email address and click Next.
  3. Please use the table below to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Click Next. If there is an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Outgoing E-mail Configuration (via SMTP)

  1. Once the settings are filled in, tap Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Please use the following table in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
  4. Now click Next. If there is an error, click Edit Settings.
