Configuring Gmx.at

It is possible that the Mail app will find your e-mail settings itself and set up your account. Apply the following steps in order to find out if it can:

  1. Open Settings, then Mail and click Accounts
  2. Tap Add Account, click Other then tap Add Mail Account
  3. Type your name, your email address, password then a description for your account
  4. Tap Next. The Mail app should try to find the mail settings and complete setting your account. If the Mail app finds the email configuration, tap Done to finish your setup.

If the Mail app couldn't find your e-mail configuration, it means that you will need to enter them yourself. I think you will need the information below:

Incoming E-mail (POP) Setup

Server Hostnamepop.gmx.net
Server Port995
UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes

Outgoing E-mail Setup (via SMTP)

Server Hostnamemail.gmx.net
Server Port465
UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes

Tap Next, then follow these steps:

  1. Choose either IMAP or POP If you are not certain which one to select, contact Gmx.at.
  2. Type the required information (You may refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then click Next.
  3. If your email configuration is correct, tap Save to complete the setup. If the e-mail setup is incorrect, the app will ask you to edit those settings
  4. If you still are not able to setup your e-mail account, or store the settings, contact Gmx.at.
