Configuring Gmx.li for your iPhone

How to configure Gmx.li:

It is possible that Mail will find the email parameters automatically, and complete setting up your account. Follow the following steps first in order to try:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts.
  2. Tap Add Account, tap Other, and tap Add Mail Account
  3. Enter your name (can be any name), your email address, your password then a description for account.
  4. Tap Next. Mail should try to find the mail parameters and set up your account. If the Mail app finds your e-mail parameter, tap Done to complete your account setup.

In case Mail can't automatically set up your account, then you will have to enter them yourself. You will need the information below:

Settings Needed for Receiving E-mail using POP

Server Hostnamepop.gmx.net
Server Port995
UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes

Settings Needed for Sending E-mail (using SMTP)

Server Hostnamemail.gmx.net
Server Port465
UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)
AuthenticationPassword
SSL/TLSYes

Tap Next, then follow these steps:

  1. Select either IMAP or POP for your new account. If you aren't sure which one to choose, contact Gmx.li.
  2. Type the required information (You will want to have a look at the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then tap Next.
  3. If your e-mail settings are correct, tap Save to finish . If your mail settings are incorrect, the Mail app will ask you to edit the configuration
  4. In case you still can't set up the e-mail account, or store the e-mail settings, contact the e-mail provider.
