How to configure Gmx.tm for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this post I will try to teach you how to setup Gmx.tm with POP and SMTP for a Samsung Galaxy (Android) in an easy to follow fashion.

How to configure Gmx.tm

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming Mail Server Configuration

  1. Choose the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Some services may not provide both protocols. Refer to the table below for possible parameters.
    • IMAP will keep the emails on the server, and it will keep a copy on your Android phone. IMAP is recommended for most users.
    • POP3 downloads the emails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android phone.
  2. Type the password for the email account and tap Next.
  3. Refer to the following information in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Now tap Next. If there is an error, click the Edit Settings button.

Outgoing E-mail Server Settings (via SMTP)

  1. After you enter the settings, click Next.
  2. Check Require sign-in
  3. Please see the following information in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
  4. Tap Next. If you see an error, click Edit Settings.
