How to configure Internode.on.net for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this post I will summarize how to set up Internode.on.net using IMAP and SMTP for your Android Device in a straightforward fashion!

First, a few words about Internode.on.net

Internode Pty Ltd is an Australian Internet service provider (ISP) that provides NBN broadband services, business-class broadband access, web hosting, co-location, Voice over IP, and a variety of related services. Setting up Internode.on.net

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Setup Needed for Receiving Email

  1. Choose the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Not all services support both options! Refer to the table below for the correct protocols.
    • IMAP protocol keeps the emails on the server and it will show a cached copy on your device. IMAP is the recommended setting for most users.
    • POP3 downloads the e-mails from the server and it will keep them on your device.
  2. Type in the passphrase for the mail address and tap Next.
  3. Please refer to the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Settings Needed for Receiving E-mail via IMAP

Settings Needed for Sending E-mail (using SMTP)

  1. Once the settings are entered, you can tap Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Use the table below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Click Next. If there is an error, click Edit Settings.
