Setting up Mail.com
Mail may find your e-mail parameters itself then complete setting up your account. Follow the following steps first in order to find out if it will:
- Open Settings, then Mail, then click Accounts
- Click Add Account > Other and tap Add Mail Account
- Enter your name (can be any name), email address, password and a description for your account.
- Click Next. Mail should now try to find the mail settings and complete your account setup. If Mail finds your e-mail configuration, click Done to finish your setup.
If Mail hasn't been able to find your e-mail configuration, it means that you need to enter them yourself. We think you will find the information below useful:
Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) Setup
Server Hostname | imap.mail.com |
Server Port | 993 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Outgoing Mail Server Setup (via SMTP)
Server Hostname | smtp.mail.com |
Server Port | 465 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Tap Next, then follow these steps:
- Choose either IMAP or POP for your new account If you don't know which one to select, contact Mail.com
- Type the required information (You will want to refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then click Next
- If the mail settings are correct, tap Save to complete the setup. If the mail setup is incorrect, you'll be asked to modify the configuration.
- In case you still can't setup your email account or save your email settings, contact your provider.
