Setting up Optimus for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

How to set up Optimus

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
3. Tap Add another account.
4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
   • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
   • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Needed for Receiving E-mail

1. Select the type of email account (either POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Not all services provide both protocols. You may want to see the information below for possible protocols.
   • IMAP will store the emails on the server, but it will display a copy on your Android device. IMAP is the recommended setting in almost all cases.
   • POP3 will download the emails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android device.
2. Type in the password for your e-mail address and click Next.
3. Please refer to the information below in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
4. Tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Incoming Mail Server (POP) Settings

Outgoing Mail Server Setup (using SMTP)

1. After you type the configuration, you can click Next.
2. Check Require sign-in
3. Please use the table below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
4. Now click Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.
