How to set up Nf.sympatico.ca for your Android Phone

In this post I will demonstrate setting up Nf.sympatico.ca using POP and SMTP for an Android Tablet in a straightforward language.

Setting up Nf.sympatico.ca

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming Mail Server Setup

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Not all services provide both protocols! You may want to check out the information below for available settings.
    • IMAP protocol will keep the mails on the server but it will keep a cached copy on your device. IMAP is recommended for most users.
    • POP3 downloads the mails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android device.
  2. Type the passphrase for your e-mail address and tap Next.
  3. Use the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If there is an error, click Edit Settings.

Configuration Needed for Sending E-mail

  1. Once the settings are entered, click Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Please use the table below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
