How to set up Omnitel.net for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

In this post I will try to demonstrate how to setup Omnitel.net with IMAP and SMTP for your Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a simple way.

How to set up Omnitel.net

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming Email Server Settings

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Not all services support both protocols! You may want to check out the information below for the correct parameters.
    • IMAP will store the e-mails on the server, but it will keep a cached copy on your Android device. IMAP is the recommended protocol in most cases.
    • POP3 will download the e-mails from the remote server and it will store them on your device.
  2. Type the passphrase for your e-mail account and click Next.
  3. Please use the following table in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings.
  4. Click Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.

Configuration Needed for Sending Mail (using SMTP)

  1. After you type the settings, you can tap Next.
  2. Check Require sign-in
  3. Please refer to the information below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
  4. Now click Next. If you see an error, click Edit Settings.
