How to set up Fastmail.tw for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

History of Fastmail.tw:

Fastmail is an email hosting company based in Melbourne, Australia. In addition to its Fastmail-branded services, the company also operates Topicbox, a mailing list service, and Pobox, an email service it acquired in 2015. The company was acquired by Opera Software in 2010 but became independent again in 2013 through a staff buyout. Its servers are located in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Seattle, Washington. How to set up Fastmail.tw:

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
3. Tap Add another account.
4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
   • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
   • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming E-mail Server Settings

1. Select the type of mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Not all services support both options. Refer to the table below for available settings.
   • IMAP protocol keeps the e-mails on the server but it will display a cached copy on your Android device. IMAP is the recommended protocol for most users.
   • POP3 will download the e-mails from the server and it will store them on your Android device.
2. Type in the password for your email address and tap Next.
3. Please refer to the following information to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
4. Tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Configuration

Configuration Required for Sending Mail (via SMTP)

1. Once the parameters are typed in, you can tap Next.
2. Enable Require sign-in
3. Please see the table below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
4. Click Next. If you see an error, click Edit Settings.
