Configuring Sbcglobal.net for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this article we will simply demonstrate configuring Sbcglobal.net with IMAP and SMTP for your Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a straightforward language.

Setting up Sbcglobal.net:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming E-mail Setup

  1. Choose the type of mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Not all services support both options. Refer to the table below for the correct settings.
    • IMAP protocol keeps the mails on the server, but it will display a copy on your device. IMAP is recommended for almost all users.
    • POP3 downloads the e-mails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android device.
  2. Type in the password for your e-mail account and tap Next.
  3. Please see the information below in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Now click Next. If there is an error, click the Edit Settings button.

Settings Required for Sending E-mail (via SMTP)

  1. Once the parameters are filled in, you can tap Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Please see the table below in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
  4. Tap Next. If there is an error, click Edit Settings.
