Setting up Shaw:
It is possible that the Mail app will find your settings itself, and set up your account. Follow these steps in order to see if it will:
- Go to Settings > Mail, and click Accounts.
- Click Add Account > Other, then tap Add Mail Account.
- Type your name (can be any name), your email address, password then a description for account.
- Click Next. The Mail app should try and find the email parameters and finish your account setup. If Mail finds the e-mail parameter, tap Done to complete your account setup.
In case Mail didn't automatically set up your account, then you have to enter them manually. I think you will need the following information:
Settings Needed for Receiving Mail via POP
Server Hostname | mail.shawcable.com |
Server Port | 110 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | No |
Outgoing E-mail Setup (using SMTP)
Server Hostname | mail.shawcable.com |
Server Port | 25 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | No |
Tap Next, then follow these steps:
- Select either IMAP or POP If you aren't certain which one to choose, contact Shaw.
- Type in the required details (You might want to refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then click Next.
- If your mail configuration is correct, click Save to complete . If your email settings are incorrect, the app will ask you to modify them
- If you still can't configure the email account or save your settings, contact the email provider.
