Configuring Sonic.net for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this article I will simply demonstrate how to configure Sonic.net using IMAP and SMTP for a Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a straightforward way!

How to setup Sonic.net:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Configuration Required for Receiving E-mail

  1. Choose the type of mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Not all services provide both. Refer to the information below for possible settings.
    • IMAP keeps the e-mails on the server, and it will keep a cached copy on your device. IMAP is recommended for almost all users.
    • POP3 will download the mails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android device.
  2. Type the password for the e-mail account and tap Next.
  3. Please use the following table in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Click Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.

Outgoing E-mail Server Configuration

  1. After you type in the parameters, click Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Refer to the following information in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.
