Setting up speedymail.org for your Samsung Galaxy (Android)

What is speedymail.org

Fastmail is an email hosting company based in Melbourne, Australia. In addition to its Fastmail-branded services, the company also operates Topicbox, a mailing list service, and Pobox, an email service it acquired in 2015. The company was acquired by Opera Software in 2010 but became independent again in 2013 through a staff buyout. Its servers are located in Bridgewater, New Jersey and Seattle, Washington. Setting up speedymail.org

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Configuration Needed for Receiving Email

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Not all services provide both! Refer to the information below for possible protocols.
    • IMAP protocol will store the emails on the server, and it will show a copy on your device. IMAP is the recommended setting for most users.
    • POP3 will download the e-mails from the remote server and it will keep them on your Android device.
  2. Type in the password for the mail address and click Next.
  3. Refer to the following table to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Now click Next. If there is an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Configuration Required for Sending E-mail

  1. After you type in the configuration, you can click Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Use the following information to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.
