Setting up Starhub.net.sg for your Android Phone

In this post we will try to demonstrate configuring Starhub.net.sg with POP and SMTP for your Android Phone in a simple language.

How to set up Starhub.net.sg:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Settings Required for Receiving E-mail

  1. Select the type of e-mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Not all services support both! Refer to the table below for possible protocols.
    • IMAP protocol keeps the mails on the server and it will show a copy on your device. IMAP is recommended in almost all cases.
    • POP3 will download the mails from the server and it will store them on your Android phone.
  2. Enter the passphrase for your e-mail account and click Next.
  3. Refer to the following information in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Click Next. If there is an error, click Edit Settings.

Outgoing Mail Setup (using SMTP)

  1. Once the parameters are typed in, you can tap Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Refer to the following table to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Click Next. If you see an error, click Edit Settings.
