Setting up Unity-mail.de for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

In this blog we will simply demonstrate setting up Unity-mail.de using IMAP and SMTP for an Android Device in an easy to follow fashion.

How to set up Unity-mail.de

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming Mail Server Setup

  1. Select the type of email account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Not all services provide both protocols! Refer to the table below for possible parameters.
    • IMAP stores the emails on the server but it will show a copy on your Android device. IMAP is the recommended setting in almost all cases.
    • POP3 will download the emails from the remote server and it will store them on your device.
  2. Type in the passphrase for the mail address and click Next.
  3. Refer to the following table to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Click Next. If there is an error, click the Edit Settings button.

Configuration Needed for Sending Mail (via SMTP)

  1. Once the parameters are filled in, you can click Next.
  2. Select Require sign-in
  3. Please refer to the information below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Tap Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
