Configuring Unwired.com.au for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this blog I will try to summarize setting up Unwired.com.au using POP and SMTP for a Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a simple way.

Configuring Unwired.com.au:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Configuration Required for Receiving Mail

  1. Choose the type of email account (POP3 or IMAP) you want to use. Not all services provide both protocols! Refer to the table below for possible protocols.
    • IMAP will keep the e-mails on the server and it will display a cached copy on your device. IMAP is recommended for most users.
    • POP3 downloads the emails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android phone.
  2. Type in the password for the mail account and tap Next.
  3. Please see the following information in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Now click Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Settings Needed for Sending Email (via SMTP)

  1. After you type in the parameters, you can click Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Please see the information below to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Click Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.
