Configuring Uol.com for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this post I will explain configuring Uol.com with SMTP and POP for a Samsung Galaxy (Android) in a simple language.

Setting up Uol.com

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming Mail Server Setup

  1. Choose the type of e-mail account (POP3 or IMAP) you will be using. Some services may not provide both options. Refer to the information below for available parameters.
    • IMAP stores the emails on the server, but it will keep a copy on your Android device. IMAP is recommended in almost all cases.
    • POP3 will download the mails from the server and it will keep them on your Android phone.
  2. Type in the passphrase for your e-mail account and tap Next.
  3. Use the information below to complete the Incoming Server Settings page.
  4. Tap Next. If there is an error, tap the Edit Settings button.

Outgoing E-mail Server Configuration (via SMTP)

  1. After you enter the settings, click Next.
  2. Enable Require sign-in
  3. Please use the following table to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If you see an error, click the Edit Settings button.
