Configuring Wildblue.net for a Samsung Galaxy (Android)

With this blog I will simply demonstrate configuring Wildblue.net with IMAP and SMTP for a Samsung Galaxy (Android) in an easy to follow language.

Configuring Wildblue.net

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Setup Needed for Receiving Mail

  1. Choose the type of email account (POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Not all services support both options. Please refer to the information below for available parameters.
    • IMAP protocol will keep the mails on the server, and it will keep a copy on your device. IMAP is the recommended setting in most cases.
    • POP3 will download the mails from the remote server and it will keep them on your Android phone.
  2. Type in the password for the email account and click Next.
  3. Use the table below to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Now click Next. If you see an error, tap Edit Settings.

Outgoing E-mail Server Settings (using SMTP)

  1. After you enter the configuration, you can tap Next.
  2. Turn on Require sign-in
  3. Please use the following table to complete the Outgoing Server Settings.
  4. Click Next. If you see an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
