Setting up Yahoo.dk for an iPad/iPhone
In this blog I will try to teach you configuring Yahoo.dk using IMAP and SMTP in a straightforward language...
History of Yahoo.dk
Yahoo! Mail is an email service launched on October 8, 1997, by the American company Yahoo, Inc. It offers four different email plans: three for personal use (Basic, Plus, and Ad Free) and another for businesses. As of January 2020, Yahoo! Mail has 225 million users. Users are able to access and manage their mailboxes using webmail interface, accessible using a standard web browser. Some accounts also supported the use of standard mail protocols (POP3 and SMTP). Since 2015, users can also connect non-Yahoo e-mail accounts to the webmail client. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahoo!_Mail
Setting up Yahoo.dk
It is possible that the Mail app will find the e-mail configuration automatically, then complete setting up your account. Apply these steps in order to try:
- Open Settings, then Mail and tap Accounts
- Click Add Account > Other, and click Add Mail Account
- Enter your name, your email address, your password then a description for your account
- Click Next. Mail will try and find the email settings and set up your account. If the Mail app finds your email configuration, click Done to complete your account setup.
If the Mail app couldn't find your email configuration, it means that you will have to enter them yourself. We think you may need the following information:
Incoming E-mail Server (IMAP) Settings
Server Hostname | imap.mail.yahoo.com |
Server Port | 993 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Configuration Needed for Sending Email (via SMTP)
Server Hostname | smtp.mail.yahoo.com |
Server Port | 465 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Tap Next, then follow these steps:
- Choose IMAP or POP. If you don't know which one to choose, contact Yahoo.dk.
- Enter the information (You might want to refer to the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then tap Next.
- If the mail settings are correct, click Save to finish the setup. If your email configuration is incorrect, Mail will ask you to modify those settings.
- In case you still can't set up your e-mail account, or save the e-mail settings, contact Yahoo.dk.
