How to configure 126.com for an Android Device

With this post we will simply explain setting up 126.com with IMAP and SMTP for your Android Phone in a straightforward way!

Configuring 126.com:

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Gmail app.
  2. In the top right, tap your profile picture.
  3. Tap Add another account.
  4. Choose the type of account you want to add:
    • If you check work or school emails through Outlook for Windows, select Outlook, Hotmail, and Live.
    • If you don't see your email service, select Other.
  5. Enter your email address and tap Next.

Incoming Email Configuration

  1. Choose the type of e-mail account (either POP3 or IMAP) you will use. Some services may not support both protocols. Please see the table below for available protocols.
    • IMAP will store the mails on the server but it will display a cached copy on your device. IMAP is recommended in most cases.
    • POP3 downloads the emails from the remote server and it will store them on your Android device.
  2. Type in the password for the email account and click Next.
  3. Please use the following information in order to complete the Incoming Server Settings settings.
  4. Now tap Next. If there is an error, tap Edit Settings.

Outgoing E-mail Settings (via SMTP)

  1. Once the parameters are filled in, tap Next.
  2. Check Require sign-in
  3. Please see the following table in order to complete the Outgoing Server Settings page.
  4. Now click Next. If there is an error, tap the Edit Settings button.
