How to configure Centurylink for your iPhone
With this post we will try to summarize configuring Centurylink with IMAP and SMTP in a simple fashion!

Setting up Centurylink:
It is possible that Mail will find the e-mail settings itself and configure your account. Apply the following steps to try:
- Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts
- Tap Add Account, click Other then click Add Mail Account
- Type your name, your email address, password with a description for account
- Click Next. Mail will now try to find the e-mail parameters and complete setting your account. If Mail finds the e-mail parameter, tap Done to complete your setup.
In case Mail can't find your email configuration, then you need to enter them manually. You may find the following info useful:
Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) Configuration
Server Hostname | mail.centurylink.net |
Server Port | 993 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Settings Needed for Sending E-mail (via SMTP)
Server Hostname | smtp.centurylink.net |
Server Port | 587 |
Username | Your username (do not include the part after the @ sign) |
Authentication | Password |
SSL/TLS | Yes |
Tap Next, then follow these steps:
- Select either IMAP or POP for your new account. If you are not sure which one to select, contact Centurylink
- Type in the information (You might have a look at the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then click Next
- If your email settings are correct, tap Save to finish the setup. If your e-mail settings are incorrect, you will be asked to edit the configuration
- In case you still can't set up your account, or store the settings, contact Centurylink.
