How to configure Centurylink for your iPhone

With this post we will try to summarize configuring Centurylink with IMAP and SMTP in a simple fashion!

Setting up Centurylink:

It is possible that Mail will find the e-mail settings itself and configure your account. Apply the following steps to try:

  1. Go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts
  2. Tap Add Account, click Other then click Add Mail Account
  3. Type your name, your email address, password with a description for account
  4. Click Next. Mail will now try to find the e-mail parameters and complete setting your account. If Mail finds the e-mail parameter, tap Done to complete your setup.

In case Mail can't find your email configuration, then you need to enter them manually. You may find the following info useful:

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) Configuration

UsernameYour username (do not include the part after the @ sign)

Settings Needed for Sending E-mail (via SMTP)

Tap Next, then follow these steps:

  1. Select either IMAP or POP for your new account. If you are not sure which one to select, contact Centurylink
  2. Type in the information (You might have a look at the table above) for Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server. Then click Next
  3. If your email settings are correct, tap Save to finish the setup. If your e-mail settings are incorrect, you will be asked to edit the configuration
  4. In case you still can't set up your account, or store the settings, contact Centurylink.
